BlackBerry’s free messaging service BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) is available for Android this summer. Only sending text messages in the initial phase.
This BlackBerry announced during the live event to BlackBerry. The smartphonefabrkant likes of BBM make a universal chat app that can be used. By different mobile platforms BlackBerry still sees a gap in the provision of online messaging services and thinks that BBM could fill and could make a difference. Hole WhatsApp is therefore seen as the main competitor.
BBM for Android is available for devices with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and later this summer. Android users can send via the online messaging text messages and join group chats. Later in the year it is possible to call other BBM users and perform.
