BlackBerry launches a messaging smartphone, aimed at a younger audience. The Q5 runs on the BB 10 operating system and gets a redesigned QWERTY keyboard below a 3.1-inch touchscreen. There are the Time Shift and Story Maker apps included for creating and sharing photos. The BBM messenger is integrated with video chat. In the BlackBerry World app store are now more than 100,000 apps. The smartphone will be available from July in a number of countries in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia. He is also in Latin America, but not in North America.
BlackBerry has also made the Messenger app for Android and iOS. The apps are submitted to Apple and Google Play (Android 4.0 and higher) and the company hopes that this summer they come through the ballot. Owners of an iPhone or a recent Android handset can then use the BBM app and add contacts in the same way as on a Blackberry. The Canadian company announced further BBM Channels to a “social engagement platform” for users and brands (companies, celebrities, groups).
