director BlackBerry John Chen in a letter to let customers know that the company still has the potential important players in the telecom market to be.
The CEO points out in his letter to include the growth of BlackBerry services and the role the company plays in the market for enterprise mobility. Chen, the successor to the former CEO Thorsten Heins, BlackBerry wants to take better advantage of the trend where employees use their personal device to take along on the shop floor.
The call for confidence in BlackBerry is primarily intended for large companies that are increasingly competing devices like Apple’s iPhone and smartphones equipped with Google’s Android purchases. This lost BlackBerry considerably over recent years to share in the business market for mobile devices. BlackBerry also facing increasing competition from Microsoft’s Windows Phone, whose market share for several months sitting in a row on the rise.
BlackBerry launched early this year with its new BlackBerry 10 platform, along with two new smartphones. Despite a new operating system and new BlackBerry devices did not break the negative spiral. The market share of the BlackBerry market share dropped from 5.2 percent to 1.8 percent in Q3, according to recent figures from Gartner.
