BlackBerry fills two top positions in marketing and sales in - Telecompaper

BlackBerry has appointed two senior executives. James S. Mackey is Executive Vice President for Corporate Development & Strategic Planning. Mark Wilson was appointed in January 2014 as Senior Vice President of Marketing.

Both VPs have previously worked with John Chen, who in early November Thorsten Heins succeeded as (interim) CEO of BlackBerry. Mackey was senior VP of Corporate Development at Open Text and Head of Corporate Development at SAP. Wilson now works with Avaya and was previously active in Sybase, AT & T and KPMG.

BlackBerry has this week also announced that John Sims, SAP responsible for mobile services, enters the service as head of the global enterprise services business of the Canadian company. Sims will get started on 1 January to BlackBerry.

BlackBerry mainly saw people leave in high positions in recent months. When it appeared that FairFax investor would not get around the acquisition of BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins was shown the door. According to the Wall Street Journal also go Rick Costanzo, executive vice president for global sales, and mergers and acquisitions head Chris Wormald early next year away. Furthermore BlackBerry last month took leave of Frank Boulben – Chief Marketing Officer, CFO Brian Bidulka and Kristian Tear – Chief Operating Officer

Friday, December 20 BlackBerry comes with the figures for the third fiscal quarter of 2014. Analysts expect a further deterioration. It has been speculated that the cash flow of the Canadian company will dry up.
