BlackBerry has today released an update to the BlackBerry Messenger app for iOS and Android. In this new version it is possible to make calls via WiFi or 3G/4G-verbinding each other. This can be so free with each other without it costing you calling minutes. However, it goes from your data usage off if you call through mobile Internet.
This sets the BlackBerry Messenger app a step that other message services have not yet put. With apps like Whatsapp and Facebook messenger is not possible to call each other. However, there are apps that aim to make calls via WiFi and mobile internet, but here are the messaging services are often of lower quality or absent. Examples include Skype and Viber.
BlackBerry now trying via messenger still some more in the picture to get to the consumer. The manufacturer has been available in heavy weather now it seems to have. Competition from Android and iOS permanently lost Windows Phone also has BlackBerry been passed. To make the BlackBerry Messenger app a success first, many users will have to download the app and install it. The question is whether that happened or that people stick to WhatsApp. Another new feature in the app are Channels, herein it possible to users who do not know to talk about common interests. Both users and companies can create channels, but probably allowed companies to pay for this. These features were already available for some time in BlackBerry 10 mobile operating system of the company, including maarn now on iOS and Android.
