Andrew Bocking, head BBM, blackberry leaves - GSMinfo.nl

Andrew Bocking, Head of BlackBerry Messenger, is leaving the company. Bocking says to leave the company voluntarily and his department is part of another BlackBerry branch.

Andrew Bocking was the Executive Vice President of BlackBerry Messenger, and so was the person ultimately responsible for the popular chat service of the Canadian company. The departure of Bocking is voluntary: he gets himself, and is not fired, so let the company know at CrackBerry. Bocking worked for some time for BlackBerry, and has worked to significantly expand BBM especially the past year. For example, there recently BBM for Android and iPhone, and is possible to make free calls and chat with BBM.


Reorganization at BlackBerry

BlackBerry after disappointing quarterly results and disappointing sales of BlackBerry 10 devices like the BlackBerry Z10 heavily beaten reorganizing. In recent months there have been various changes in the management of BlackBerry. As CEO Thorsten Heins was replaced by John Chen, who would want to get the broom considerably by the company. As far as is known, Bocking’s departure nothing to do with the planned reorganization.


No direct replacement

BlackBerry is not looking for a replacement for Bocking. Instead, the BBM department will now be led by the head of BlackBerry’s Global Enterprise Solutions branch, John Sims. The company modification could indicate that BBM will play an important role and that BlackBerry Enterprise Service wants to push for companies.
