BlackBerry 10.2 will support Android 4.2.2 apps - tweakers.net

BlackBerry 10, no runs virtual Android.

Basically a BlackBerry 10 device just another Android phone.

Just like a normal Android phone, BB10 running a Unix-like OS ( Adnroid for Linux, QNX BB10 ear a POSIX OS)

On top of just running for both the Android Run-Time, the Java-based Android run-time, just compiled neatly as well as a Samsung Galaxy S4 done eg.

In this regard so it runs as fast (or even faster) and on similar hardware.

Some things are licensed or Google, like Google Maps, Music, Play Store. Which you will then also not see the BlackBerry version. As with Amazon Kindle for example, who also have their own store.

With version 4.2.2 in BB10.2 hardware acceleration is also supported, which allows the performance of the Android Application once given a boost.

What is not supported is the execution of the native code Android. These are the C / C + + libraries which some (game) developers use to still get.

Hope this makes things clearer and shows that for normal Android Apps this excellent performance have extra performance from the hardware on BB10.
